Unterallgäu - A wild boar on the A96 near Stetten (Unterallgäu district) caused enormous property damage on Wednesday morning.

After a 32-year-old collided with the animal, further accidents followed a few seconds later.

A 32-year-old Renault driver was driving on the A96 in the direction of Lindau in the morning when a wild boar crossed the lane shortly before the Stetten junction. His Renault was badly damaged by the force of the impact (damage approx. 8,000 euros) and came to a stop in the middle of the road. The good news: thanks to his seatbelt, the 32-year-old got away with minor injuries, namely a shoulder bruise.

More disastrous were the remains of the Renault, which were still in the middle of the A96: A 54-year-old VW driver reacted well, recognized the vehicle parts lying around and the deformed Renault in time and braked it in time.

A 23-year-old BMW driver also succeeded in doing this.

A van driving behind it couldn't brake, its 21-year-old helmsman crashed into the rear of the BMW at high speed and pushed it further into the VW.

The young BMW driver suffered a neck injury from the heavy impact and had to be taken to the hospital by the emergency services.

The other people involved in the accident were uninjured.

The damage is now also great: the front of the van was massively deformed, the property damage amounts to around 15,000 euros.

The rear and the front of the BWM were dented, the damage here is around 6,000 euros, according to the police.

The damage to the VW is estimated at around 3,000 euros.

None of the vehicles were roadworthy anymore, the tow truck had to pull in three times.

Because of the widely scattered vehicle parts, the A96 in the direction of Lindau had to be completely closed for half an hour.

Until all the cars had been removed, traffic was directed past the scene of the accident in a single lane until around 6 a.m.
