"A very big pain": concern for the five members of a Latino family run over in Waukesha

Skull fractures, coma, multiple emergency operations and lacerations throughout the body are some of the torture suffered by the three Perales girls and their parents, after the fateful parade in Wisconsin.

The Perales were walking in the Waukesha Christmas parade Sunday afternoon when a pickup truck crashed into them, sending the parents and their three girls to the hospital with multiple injuries.

So far, six people have died and more than 60 were injured in the run over during the festival, including an 8-year-old boy named Jackson Sparks who died Tuesday at Wisconsin Children's Hospital from his injuries.

At the same hospital, six other children are still in critical condition,

including one of the 11-year-old Perales sisters.

Photographs obtained by Noticias Telemundo show two of the girls in the hospital, one of them intubated and the other in bed.

They both have lacerations on their faces.

The girls' mother and younger sister have already been discharged and are currently continuing their recovery from home.

"For me it has been devastating, something we never imagined, something tremendous, unacceptable," Bertha Granado, great aunt of the injured girls, told Noticias Telemundo.

Another relative, Lucero Isabel Perales, started a GoFundMe page to raise funds to help them pay for their medical care at the hospital.

"My family was part of the parade along with the Waukesha Catholic group. The car hit them directly and they are currently in the hospital," the relative wrote on the aforementioned website.

"My uncle broke his leg and had to undergo a six hour emergency operation. He is currently in intensive care.
