The Water Supplies Department announced today (25th) that it will open the Sham Shui Po Bishop’s Hill Service Reservoir to the public on a limited basis. From December 1st, citizens can book a guided tour to visit the service reservoir in depth.

The guided tour will be held from December 15th to June of next year (tentatively) from Monday to Sunday in the morning and afternoon. It is expected that about 1,000 people can register each month.

The Water Supplies Department stated that the current structure of the service reservoir is very good, and visitors can freely admire the entire building.

However, there are many steps in the guided tour, and the mountain road is relatively sloping. The elderly and people with disabilities should first understand their physical condition before considering participating in the activity.

The Bishop Mountain Reservoir was dangerously demolished at the end of last year. After relevant organizations and neighbourhoods, together with social attention, it was finally rated as a first-class historic building by the Antiquities Advisory Committee. The ancient Roman-style building built in 1904 has been preserved and is being restored. .
