The Directorate of Agriculture in the As-Suwayda Governorate has hired 250,000 doses of medicine to complete the free vaccination of sheep, goats and poultry against diseases that may affect them in order to avoid their damage to production.
The head of the animal health department in the directorate, veterinarian Camille Morshed, told SANA reporter that the doses borrowed from the Animal Health Directorate in the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform are distributed at 200,000 doses to vaccinate domestic chickens against Newcastle fowl-like plague and 50,000 doses to vaccinate sheep and goats against Enterotoxemia.
Morshed confirmed that the directorate will continue immunization operations against various diseases throughout the year under the supervision of specialists and free of charge, pointing out that the general health status of livestock in the governorate is good with the presence of multiple births in it during the current year.
Over the past 10 months, the Directorate of Agriculture in As-Suwayda has conducted about 620,000 preventive vaccinations for cows, sheep and goats against communicable and infectious diseases, in addition to providing 523,000 doses for poultry free of charge.
