The corona rules are tightened: 2Gplus applies in restaurants, unvaccinated employees need a test: there is a lot going on at the test station at Gustavo Gusto.

Geretsried - Wednesday, 2 p.m .: The test center on Böhmerwaldstrasse has been open for 30 minutes.

In front of the door of the actual sales building of frozen pizza maker Franco Fresco, 40 people are waiting for their smear.

Inside, seven employees from the operating company excura work as one piece.

Managing director Alexandra Dieterich still exudes serenity.

Corona in Geretsried: 2Gplus and tests at the workplace: This is how it works at the test station

"We can do it," she says and smiles under her mask.

The test station is the only one that remained in Geretsried.

Dieterich has been used to stressful hours on duty for weeks, "but so many people have rarely come as at the moment," she recalls.

Excura uses well over 300 test kits every day.

The 2Gplus rule ensures a rush at the corona test station

The 2Gplus rule, which has been in force in many areas since Wednesday, ensures the rush.

The fact that unvaccinated workers have to take a smear also increases the number of visitors.

"And there are many people who just want to be on the safe side," observed Dieterich.

It's now free again.

Citizens only have to pay for the so-called NAT tests themselves.

This laboratory-specific test, which is similar to a PCR test, costs 75 euros.

Those tested receive the result on the same day, "sometimes after half an hour," says the managing director.

Test station in Geretsried: It's faster with an appointment

Anyone who fears having to wait too long in the November cold because of the queue is wrong: "I was finished in ten minutes," reports Dietmar Buhn.

He needs a negative test result in order to visit his mother in the nursing home.

He made an appointment on the internet beforehand.

"We would like everyone to do it that way," says Dieterich.

This is not yet mandatory for the rapid tests, "but a registration makes it a lot easier for us and the customer".

An employee calls the appointment customer about every ten minutes.

“It's now 2.10 p.m.”, it rings out in the background.

But Dieterich also promises quick processing to visitors who have not made an appointment.

"My colleagues are well-rehearsed, we don't leave anyone out in the rain."

Only one test station in Geretsried: many consider this to be too little

Paul Abeltshauser also hopes for this as he walks with his daughter to the Gustavo Gusto sales house.

He urgently needs the quick test: In the evening he would like to see an ice hockey game, the 2Gplus rule applies in sports halls.

He did not find another test station, reports the Apeltshauser from Bad Heilbrunn.

"At most I could have gone to Penzberg, someone was also open." He would like more test capacities in the district.

Unvaccinated is angry: Is vaccination compulsory through the back door?

A Geretsrieder woman who does not want to read her name in the newspaper sees it the same way.

"For my work I now have to take a test every day," explains the unvaccinated.

What she thinks of it, she makes clear: “There is no compulsory vaccination, but now I have a massive effort.” The Geretsriederin thinks this is “very, very annoying”.

Corona rules are changed regularly: the test station manager takes it calmly

The reasons why someone comes to test are not decisive for Dieterich.

"We take the situation as it is," says the excura boss.

This has been necessary since the beginning of the pandemic.

She has learned a lesson from all the back and forth over the course of the crisis: “We don't plan more than two weeks in advance,” says Dieterich with a laugh.

“We try to help, no matter which rules are currently in force.” But it is clear to her that the testing will continue.

She is currently looking for additional employees, ideally from the medical field.
