In a panel promoting the film at last month's Comic-Con conference, Reitman Jr. said: "All my life I have been asked, 'When will you make a sequel to' The Demon Mowers'?" My assumption was that people just want more of the original 'Ghostbusters'. " He says, "The fact that the film is coming up exclusively in theaters is huge, because as much as I like watching content on streaming - and it helped me move the Corona closure - I love the cinematic experience and I know creators hope audiences watch their movies in the auditorium with popcorn, huge screen and amazing sound. We wanted the audience of this film to have the same exciting experience as then in 1984. "

Reitman's father is a partner in the project as lead producer.

In the panel, the father said: "I'm lucky that at the time I got a great 80-page script for Learn Ackroyd, and I'm even more lucky that the audience stayed with us after 40 years. 'The Demon Mowers',' and I straight away replied 'You already have a wonderful career, why go back to what your old father has already done?'.

But when he shared the idea with me - I was amazed, and from there we set off.

Surprisingly we did not argue too much on the set, we both have a huge passion for the project and found a way to work together.

In the end, my son deserves more praise than I do. "
