Mogadishu-SANA
Eight people were killed and 17 others wounded, including children, in a suicide terrorist bombing outside a school in the Somali capital Mogadishu today.
Reuters quoted police spokesman Abdel-Fattah Aden Hassan as saying that a suicide bomber detonated a four-wheel drive vehicle filled with explosives targeting a United Nations convoy near the “Mokasir” school, which includes middle and high school students, killing eight people and wounding 17 others, including 13 children. .
Militants from the Somali extremist movement Al-Shabab, linked to the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the blast and said they were targeting a United Nations security convoy that was passing near the school.
The Somali capital and other regions of the country are witnessing bombings and attacks, most of which are attributed to the extremist Al-Shabab movement. Last March, more than 20 people were killed and dozens were injured as a result of a terrorist car bombing in Mogadishu.
