The police said they had noticed the relevant online footage. After a follow-up investigation by the Transport Department of the New Territories North Region, the 19-year-old male motorcyclist driver was arrested today (25th) for the crime of "dangerous driving".
The clip was recently uploaded to the Facebook group "Discussion on the Road", showing that at 3 pm on Monday, outside the gate of the parking lot on Qingcheng Road, Qinghe Village, Sheung Shui, a motorcyclist was about to drive a motorcycle away along the pavement, but I was blocked by a middle-aged uncle in front of the car, during which the uncle shouted, "This is a pedestrian road, you can't ride a motorcycle on the pedestrian road."
However, the motorcyclist finally drove the motorcycle on the pavement, slowly passing by the uncle.
The police reiterated that the above-mentioned ignorant driving behavior seriously endangers the safety of other road users.
Offenders may be charged with the crime of "dangerous driving", which can be sentenced to a maximum of 3 years' imprisonment, a license suspension for at least 6 months, and a fine of 25,000 yuan.
