A family trapped in a burning apartment in Dimona - and a shirt Israel today

Firefighters who arrived at the scene identified an apartment on the second floor that was completely burned.


A fire broke out last night (Wednesday to Thursday) in an apartment in Petah Tikva, 18 people were rescued in a mild and moderate condition, and were evacuated to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

MDA paramedics Dvir Chesnover and Jordan Kuriat, who arrived at the scene, said: “When we arrived at the scene we saw the building smoky, the occupants came out of the building and there was a commotion while firefighters took control of the fire and searched the apartments.

We performed a first sorting of the casualties at the scene, we saw a four-and-a-half-year-old toddler who was in the arms of his family members after inhaling smoke.

He was conscious and suffering from breathing problems, we provided him with life-saving medical care. " 

MDA spokesman Zaki Heller said: "Tonight a report was received of a fire on the first floor of a four-story residential building.

"MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment and evacuated 18 smoke inhalation victims to the hospitals, all of them fully conscious, including a four-year-old toddler in moderate condition and 17 in mild condition, including ten children and seven adults."

Earlier, a fire broke out in an apartment in Dimona and five family members were trapped inside, including several children, who were rescued by firefighters who arrived at the scene. 

Firefighters conducted additional searches to locate more trapped people, and at the same time acted to completely evacuate all the occupants of the building following the thick smoke that penetrated the apartments.

In another fire that broke out last night in Carmiel, a shelter caught fire in a three-story building in the city.

There were no casualties, but the shelter was damaged.

In another incident, a spice factory in Beit Kama burned down.

After several hours of work, firefighters were able to stop the flames from spreading.

A fire investigator from the Fire and Rescue Department opened an investigation into the case.
