Various titles in philosophy, science, economics, and literature of all kinds, in addition to books on children's literature, are included in the book fair organized by the Latakia Culture Directorate within the celebration of the Syrian Culture Days.

The exhibition, which is being held in Dar Al-Assad for Culture, Tishreen University and the Cultural Center in Jableh, has a distinguished audience of readers who are waiting for book fairs to obtain the latest publications of the Syrian General Book Organization, benefiting from the discount granted by the ministry, which amounts to 35 percent of the book’s price, according to Bashar Mahmoud, director of the Bookstore Center in the Latakia Culture Directorate.

Mahmoud pointed out that the book fairs in Lattakia are among the fairs that achieve a high percentage of sales, with a wide segment of readers and those interested in the book and keen to acquire it.

Among the exhibition’s pioneers, teachers Malik Jleiko and Nidal Diba spoke about the importance of holding the book fair on an ongoing basis, as it contributes to encouraging reading, whether through the multiplicity of titles offered and the discount on their prices, calling for special attention to children’s publications and folklore and working to diversify the rest of the publications.

The exhibition will continue in all centers until the thirtieth of this month.

Also, Al-Kindi Cinema in Lattakia, and as part of the celebration of the Syrian Culture Days, presents cinematic screenings of a group of the latest and most important Syrian films, such as Damascus, Aleppo, directed by Basil Al-Khatib, Amina, directed by Ayman Zaidan, Mawred, directed by Ahmed Ibrahim, and “The Judgment Response” by director Najdat Anzour, “Ragal” and “Three Days” by director Joud Said. The cultural centers in the governorate’s countryside also witnessed Similar cinematic screenings were shown in Kalamakho, Ain al-Bayda, Ain al-Sharqiya, al-Haffah and Beit Yashout.
