Germany today (Thursday) recorded a landmark in the Corona plague as over one hundred thousand people have died across the country since the Corona virus arrived in its territory in 2020.
The Center for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases in Berlin said that 364 people died in the past day from causes related to corona disease, bringing the total death toll from the disease in the country to 100,114 people.
Germany is the fifth country in Europe to cross the threshold of one hundred thousand dead after Russia, Britain, Italy and France.
The difficult figure comes against the backdrop of a major public debate in the country over whether to start and require immunization of the corona virus in Germany.
Yesterday, the German Ministry of Defense announced that it would require all servicemen in the German army to be vaccinated against the virus.
In Germany, there has been a large increase in the morbidity rate this week, and the authorities in various parts of the country are considering new measures to deal with the spreading virus.
On Sunday it was reported that in the major morbidity centers in the country the beds in the hospitals and corona wards are running out.
One of the largest disease centers in Germany is in the east of the country, in Saxony, where the rate of positive for the virus stands at more than 1,500 per 100,000 inhabitants.
Saxony also has the lowest rate of vaccination in Germany, with only 59 percent of its population fully vaccinated against the virus.
German Health Minister Jens Schpan said in a speech on the disease that: "By the end of winter, the entire population of Germany will be vaccinated, recovering or dead."
Shapan went on to say: "It's important to remember, we have the amount of vaccines needed for the whole population and the vaccines are working."
