At 7:41 am today (25th), the police received a report that a fire broke out in a high-rise unit in Shek Sau House, Shek Lei (1) Village, Kwai Chung, and a lot of smoke was emitted.
Firefighters arrived at the scene to put out the fire. The officers found an old man in the unit in a coma. He was taken to Renji Hospital by ambulance.
About 50 people were evacuated to a safe place during the incident, and the police are investigating the case.
Mr. Chen, a resident on the 17th floor of Shixiu Building, said that at the time of the incident, there was a fire and heavy smoke in the unit opposite him, and the entire corridor was dark. He immediately closed the door and called the police for help. .
