Just six months after being appointed coach of Sheffield United, former Maccabi Tel Aviv player Selvisha Yukanovich was fired today (Thursday) from his position at the English club. / 26.
The former Yellows coach signed a three-year contract last May but ended his career with the team after only 22 games.
He led Sheffield to 16th place in the Championship, with 23 points in 19 league games.
The club's official statement said the decision to part with Yukanovich came in the wake of "several months of strategic planning, and due to the lackluster season opener".
The 53-year-old Serb signed for Maccabi Tel Aviv in July 2015, leading it to a second appearance in the club's history in the home leg of the Champions League. He was sacked in November 2018 when Fulham were ranked last in the Premier League and replaced by Claudio Ranieri, who last season coached Al-Gharafa from Qatar.
