Israel's ambassador to the UN, Gilad Ardan, tonight (Thursday) submitted an official letter of complaint to the member states of the organization's Security Council, in which he attacked the recent violations by Hezbollah - and demanded that they strongly condemn the terrorist organization, and even take action against it.
Arden wrote in a letter he sent ahead of next Monday's council hearing on the implementation of Resolution 1701 in Lebanon (a resolution passed during the Second Lebanon War, in 2006, concerning the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah to bring an end to the terrorist organization's activities in Lebanon). Military and do not allow UNIFIL freedom of movement in its area of activity.
"Hezbollah's attacks on UNIFIL forces are not a coincidence, but a broad strategy of establishing terrorism in the region. I demand that the council condemn the violations and ensure that UNIFIL fulfills its role."
The ambassador also wrote that in the next confrontation between the parties, the terrorist organization could wreak havoc on Lebanon: "I demand that the international community open its eyes and understand who is really responsible for Lebanon's difficult situation and economic collapse - Hezbollah, and its sponsor, Iran."

"The most worrying aspect of Hezbollah's conduct is its precision missile development program, which is blatantly violating Security Council resolutions," Arden added in his letter, which was accompanied by a map illustrating the direct link between the terrorist organization's attacks on UNIFIL forces and the areas in which it operates. Terrorism and establishes terrorist infrastructure, missiles and rockets. "With the deliberate concealment of its weapons and ammunition depots within civilian population centers in southern Lebanon, Hezbollah and its murderous activities pose a threat not only to Israel and its citizens, but also to Lebanese residents."
Arden added: "As described in previous reports, a number of incidents, including incidents involving physical violence against UNIFIL personnel, have prevented the organization from fulfilling its mandate.
The repeated violent attacks against the organization's forces are not random or isolated, but rather deliberate attacks that are part of a broader strategy designed to limit the effectiveness of UN peacekeeping forces in the region.
