Increase in the volume of online sales: About half (48%) of small and medium-sized business owners selling in stores also offer their wares online, compared to 42% of them last year.

This emerges from the results of a business survey by the payment company PayPal, conducted by the Roshink Institute among a nationally representative sample of 681 self-employed and small business owners.

According to the four-day survey in October, 46% of respondents stated that they also sell to target audiences around the world - a figure that reflects a slight decrease of 1% from the previous survey last year.

Along with the business survey, a consumer survey was also conducted and it emerged that 4.28% of respondents testified that they saved money from the October salary especially for the month of shopping (compared to 23% in 2020).

According to the survey, conducted among 637 respondents from around the country, which constitute a representative random sample of four sectors aged 16-7 - the amount of expenditure of the Israeli consumer in the month of shopping is NIS 642 on average.

This is a dramatic increase of 31% compared to only NIS 491 last year.

The survey also showed that in the past year, about 18% of Israelis have joined the circle of online shoppers (compared to 14% in 2020), and that 26% of Israelis prefer to shop online (compared to 24% last year).

On the other hand, 48% of respondents said that they still do not feel comfortable with online payments or with sharing their financial details online.
