Germering - The Germering City Library offers two special Advent campaigns in December.

On the one hand, the blind date takes place again with a book and the Germeringer Kunstkreis exhibits its advent calendar in the shop window.

From Wednesday, December 1st, it will be Christmas time again in the Germering City Library. As in previous years, the

“Blind Date with a Book” campaign

begins

.

Book packages that are opaque and tied with a bow are presented in the foyer of the library. One package can be borrowed per library card, which is not revealed by the self-check-out terminal. The book should only be unpacked at home, so that the surprise is even greater.

Since 2020, the

art advent calendar of the Germeringer

Kunstkreis in the shop window of the city library

has also been part of the Advent season

.

24 packaged images will be presented on December 1st and one will be unpacked every day.

The pictures are by 24 different artists, have different formats and different painting techniques, but they are united by this year's motto “Wishlist”.

On Christmas Eve, a complete art exhibition can then be admired in the shop window of the city library.

Access to the library only with 2G

The current 15th Bavarian Infection Protection Ordinance, which has been in force since Wednesday, November 24th, obliges

all libraries in Bavaria to

comply

with the 2G entry regulation

. This means that only people who have been vaccinated against Covid or have recovered from Covid disease can currently enter the library. This regulation applies from the age of 12 and is based on the age limit for Covid vaccinations. Children below this age limit can still come to the city library without a 2G certificate. Test certificates can currently no longer be accepted.

If you are not allowed or do not want to enter the city library to borrow media, the library team continues to offer

"Call & Collect"

.

After ordering the media by telephone during the opening hours of the library and arranging a collection date, the media will be booked and handed over with a notice at the main entrance of the city library.

In this way, customers of the library continue to receive their media and the measures to protect against infection are adhered to.

Further information on the library's offer and service and the applicable corona protective measures can be found on the website.
