Beijing-Sana
China today launched a new satellite into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the northwest of the country.
The Xi'an 11 satellite was launched on board a Quaizhou-1A carrier rocket and entered the planned orbit, where the satellite will be mainly used for land surveying, urban planning, crop yield estimation, and disaster prevention and mitigation, Xinhua said.
The launch is the thirteenth mission for the Kwaicho-1A carrier rockets.
The Kwaizhou 1A is a small, low-cost solid-fuel carrier rocket with a short set-up period designed to launch low-orbit satellites weighing less than 300 kilograms.
And from the same center, China launched the Gaofen 3 2 Zero satellite from the same center two days ago, aboard the Long March 4C carrier rocket, and it successfully entered the planned orbit.
