The Mahmoud Al-Ajjan Music Forum, hosted by Dar Al-Assad for Culture in Latakia, celebrated the piano performances of major international composers through a concert by the instrumentalist Ali Alloush.

The concert, which was presented within the celebration of the Syrian Culture Days, “Culture, Authenticity and Renewal,” was titled “Improvisation” and came in a variety of romantic, classical and contemporary eras. It was opened by Alloush with a full sonata of three movements by Beethoven, followed by two pieces by Franz Schubert.

Among the works of the most important piano composer in history, Frederic Chopin, Alloush played three variations, and the concert ended with two pieces by Russian musician Sergei Rakhmenov.

Through this concert, Alloush sought to spread the culture of classical music to listeners and new interested parties through a concert program similar to professional solo evenings that would be close and touch the audience at the same time to narrow the space between the musician and his audience.

Alloush, a piano teacher at the Mahmoud Al-Ajjan Institute of Music and a student at the Faculty of Medicine at Tishreen University, pointed out in a statement to SANA reporter the urgent need to enhance the role of art in society in all its forms and present it with the highest levels of professionalism while bringing it closer to the public’s taste, noting the forum, which sought through its three evenings to present music Classic in many forms and performance and a high level, whether through students or professors.

It is noteworthy that the Mahmoud Al-Ajjan Music Forum concludes its activities today with a joint choral evening of the Good Shepherd Choir and the Arjwan Choir.
