"
It is not unreasonable to think that we will need a fourth vaccine,
" Nitzan Horowitz said in an interview with
Channel 12
, after data from the Department of Health revealed that 9% of new cases diagnosed Tuesday had received the third booster dose.
According to the minister, Israel has not yet entered a "fifth wave" of epidemics despite the growing number of cases of contamination.
Israel has become one of the first countries, after the United States, to lower the age of access to the Covid vaccine by launching a vaccination campaign for children aged five this week.
More than 5.7 million of the estimated nine million Israelis have already been doubly vaccinated, more than 80% of adults.
