The nickname "Wolverine" had been given to him by his mother as much for his passion for superheroes as for his resilience in the face of disease.
Maxence, 11, died on Tuesday after fighting since 2018 with osteosarcoma, a bone cancer, according to information from 20 minutes.
His disappearance caused a huge reaction on social networks where the boy could count on the support of thousands of Internet users.
On the Facebook page "Wolverine's Fight Against Osteosarcoma", which has 29,650 subscribers, Mary, Maxence's mother announced the sad news accompanied by a moving message.
“Tonight I don't want anything anymore.
No longer want to laugh.
Everything was so fast, the day before he was still telling me that I was the best mom and that he loved me so much, ”she wrote.
Powered by Maxence's parents, settled in Cléguer in Morbihan, this page aimed to support their son but also to discover this little-known and yet formidable disease, particularly affecting children aged 10 to 20 years.
They also founded the association “SUPER MAX I MOM”.
Thanks to their mobilization, Maxence had in particular been able to meet the singers Bigflo and Oli on the sidelines of a concert in Nantes, the footballer Raphaël Varane and had been invited by Emmanuel Macron to the Christmas of the Elysee in 2019.

A tribute will take place on Monday, November 29 at the Kerlétu Funeral Center in Queven at 1:15 p.m., according to the family.
"Maxence did not want flowers but wanted to raise funds to help research against osteosarcoma," added his mother on the Facebook page.
