Endurance test vaccination in the district: Lack of staff and increasingly aggressive citizens

The district wants to massively expand its vaccination offer.

But there is a problem: there is a lack of staff.

District Administrator Christoph Göbel desperately woos people to support the vaccination campaigns.

Another thing that worries the district administrator is the increasing aggressiveness in the population.

District

- The campaign with the vaccination bus in Unterföhring was scheduled until 5.30 p.m.

The two doctors and their team worked until 9 p.m. in order to have to turn away as few people as possible.

254 were vaccinated.

The rush - as with every stop of the vaccination bus - huge.

"We are doing what we can to further expand vaccination capacities," promised District Administrator Christoph Göbel (CSU) at a press conference.

Vaccination centers open again

The vaccination centers in Oberhaching and Unterschleißheim will open again on December 1st.

You have to register here for an appointment.

There is also a vaccination drive-in at the Jochen Schweizer Arena in Taufkirchen on Mondays and Tuesdays, where you can get vaccinated without an appointment.

Personnel shortage: charities step in

The problem: there is a lack of staff everywhere. "We are urgently looking for people to support the vaccination campaigns," says Göbel. Mainly because of the high bureaucratic effort. “In the Haar vaccination center alone, we need twelve employees who are busy with the registration,” says Göbel and criticizes the fact that in the past you could fill out a lot in advance via the vaccination portal BayIMCO - which is no longer possible. The charities are increasingly rushing to help: two additional Johanniter teams are now supporting the vaccination campaigns, as is the Red Cross. In Haar this week, 20 emergency services from the technical relief organization helped so that a second vaccination street could be opened on the upper floor.

There should be further, regular vaccination campaigns in the individual communities.

In view of the upcoming winter, these should take place in buildings provided by the municipalities.

"We will also try to control it even better," says Göbel.

So it could be that you have to register in advance for some vaccination campaigns in the community.

Göbel is dismayed by the aggressive treatment

What upset Göbel is "the often aggressive handling" of the emergency services during the vaccination campaigns.

He has also never experienced the aggression to which he and many employees in the district office are currently exposed.

"People are nervous," said Göbel.

It is already clear that everyone wants to be vaccinated as quickly as possible.

But with the current onslaught it is clear that long queues often formed.

Concerned situation in Munich clinic

Even if only eight district citizens were treated in the hospital for a Covid disease in the last seven days, Göbel is worried about the situation in the Munich clinics because fewer and fewer beds are available and the general everyday hospital routine is suffering as a result.

There are currently more than 600 infections in schools and daycare centers.

Two daycare facilities have already had to close temporarily.

Complete contact tracking is no longer possible.

"Here we prioritize, especially with a view to age," says Göbel.

Around 40 residents in ten elderly care facilities also tested positive for Corona.

In addition, 35 employees in 17 facilities are infected.

Sufficient capacities in municipal test centers

Since 2G plus has been in place in many places, there is also greater demand for test options.

According to Göbel, the capacities in the municipal test centers are still absolutely sufficient.

He also hopes that more private providers will increasingly create test options again.
