Family reunification:

Hillel Gold, 62, immigrated to Israel yesterday (Wednesday) and reunited with his wife Ruth and their six children, who have immigrated to Israel in recent years.

Hillel immigrated from New Jersey and until recently worked as a spiritual counselor at the hospice, accompanying an elderly population on his deathbed.

"Now that the puzzle is complete," said Ruth, Hillel's wife, excitedly, "after years of traveling back and forth to Israel and the United States, my dear husband is joining us in the Land of Israel and we are full of excitement."

Ruth added: "It is a huge privilege for us as a family to contribute and integrate in Israel in the fields of medicine, academia, security and education. We look forward to seeing how the new chapter in our lives as a united family will begin."

Those who initiated the aliyah process were his children - Tzipora, Avi, Meirav and Akiva, who immigrated to Israel in 2016 and settled in Jerusalem.

Today, Tzipora works for a biotech company, my father joined the world of communications, Meirav is doing a doctorate in genetic biology at the Hebrew University, and Akiva, who served as a lone soldier in the IDF, is studying at the Hebrew University.

In 2017, his two daughters - Tamar and Elisheva - immigrated to Israel.

Today, Tamar works as an English teacher and Elisheva is doing a bachelor's degree in economics at the Hebrew University, after completing national service as a single service girl.

In 2019, the mother of the family immigrated - Ruth, who works as a pediatrician.

Hillel's aliyah was assisted by the Nefesh Benefesh organization, in collaboration with the Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption, the Jewish Agency, the JNF and JNF-USA.
