Fatal collision: railway worker is hit by train - warning signals came too late

A tragic accident occurred at Gollhofen on Thursday morning.

A railway worker died after being hit by a train.

Nuremberg - On Thursday morning (November 25th) a railway worker near Gollhofen (Middle Franconia) was hit by a train and killed in the process.

At the time of the accident, the 46-year-old was working on a construction site on the Treuchtlingen-Würzburg route.

According to the police, the train driver tried to warn the man with acoustic and optical signals, but in vain. The man died of his injuries at the scene of the accident, and the train driver suffered a shock after the collision.
