At 11 o'clock in the evening on the 25th, a passer-by was walking across the Coral Pavilion on Paotai Mountain’s Tin Hau Temple Road and found a wild boar about 1 meter long with its neck caught on the railing of the pedestrian road. Although struggling, it was still unable to move. There was blood all over the floor.
The police arrived at the scene, blocked the footpath, and summoned the fishery and Conservation Department officers at the same time.
Firefighters tried to rescue the trapped wild boar from the danger, but by midnight on the 26th, the wild boar was still unable to escape.

Sources at the scene stated that since the AFCD was unable to send personnel to the scene within a short period of time, the staff of the Animal Protection Association decided to send two veterinarians to the scene after discussion. A sedative needle was used to make him sleep, so that he would no longer be struggling and injured. At the same time, the firefighters took the opportunity to open the railing with tools and rescued the wild boar.
The staff of the Association then transported the wild boars back to the headquarters of the Association in Wan Chai for treatment.
It is understood that the wild boar involved is a female, young adult, weighing about 50 kilograms.
