The queue wound several hundred meters through the town center: 370 people who had been vaccinated had to wait up to three hours to get their pricks in the Holzkirchen town hall on Saturday.
The action will be repeated on the next Saturdays, then with a quick “senior track”.

- The mayor was not completely at ease. The closer Saturday (November 20th) got, "the bigger my worries became about whether we would be able to cope with the rush," says Christoph Schmid. To be on the safe side, the Holzkirchen town hall chief rushed to the town hall early on Saturday morning, where the first Holzkirchen vaccination bus plus campaign of the district vaccination center started at 9 a.m. The corona vaccines were administered in the large council chamber, with access from the Herdergarten. The action was officially scheduled until 1 p.m.
It soon became apparent that the time window was insufficient.
"The line ran from the town hall through the Herdergarten down to the old police station," reports Schmid.
He and District Administrator Olaf von Löwis, who stopped by, motivated the freezing line to persevere with gummy bears and chocolate.
Vaccinated people wait for their prick without complaining
It wasn't until 3:15 p.m. that one of the five doctors gave the last injection.
"The people waited in a disciplined manner," praises Schmid, "nobody grumbled." And everyone got their injection, emphasizes Beate Faus, the head of the district vaccination center.
The majority, around three quarters, were made up of “boosters” (third-party vaccinations). Quite a few elderly citizens, including those with walking disabilities, waited a long time in line for this. The second edition will be improved here on Saturday, November 27th. According to Faus, there will in future be a separate over 70 lane for all mobile offers for senior citizens and the mobility impaired in order to shorten their waiting time. Faus also promises that everyone who queues at the town hall by 1 p.m. is guaranteed to get their prick. "No matter how long it takes then."
Schmid tried to talk to the queue and found that the low-threshold vaccination offer was accepted nationwide.
“People came from Dachau and Fürstenfeldbruck.” A group of construction workers got themselves the first vaccination with the vaccine from Johnson & Johnson, which is considered a full vaccine after just one dose.
They told Schmid that they were getting the vaccination so that they could work more easily on construction sites.
The vaccination bus will come to Otterfing on December 9th
In view of the rush, Schmid could imagine offering Kultur im Oberbräu as a vaccination station. However, according to Faus, additional mobile offers, in addition to the vaccination center in Hausham, are not manpowered. "We need the employees in the vaccination center, so we can't take the vaccination bus every day." In addition, the vaccination bus stops in Otterfing on Thursday, December 9th (9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Otterfinger Hof at the sports center).
“We doctors are happy to have additional vaccination offers on site,” says Warngau family doctor Dr.
Winfried Dresel.
In his practice, he and colleague Dagmar Vogel vaccinate an average of 60 to 70 doses four days a week.
More is currently not possible.
"The infection season is running and is slowing us down." When it comes to vaccination appointments, the booster group usually asks, they usually have to wait two to three weeks.
“First vaccinations are rare,” says Dresel.
And that does not only apply to his Warngau practice, as figures from the previous week show: According to the district office, the practices in the district reported 237 first and 236 second vaccinations within a week.
1826 citizens got the booster set.
