Fürstenfeldbruck - The city administration's crisis team decided to hold the next three meetings of the city council as so-called hybrid meetings.
Mayor Erich Raff (CSU) announced this at a specially convened press conference.
The fourth wave makes it possible. What has been discussed often and extensively in recent years will celebrate its premiere on November 30th: the first hybrid meeting of the Bruck City Council. Alternatively, the 22-member Corona special committee - a body similar to the vacation committee during the summer break - could have been convened. However, since the
invitation and documents had already been sent to all 40 city councilors, the hybrid version was chosen.
Technically, this would be “a big challenge”, as Roland Klehr emphasizes, but it is feasible. "Webex" will be used as the platform, a software similar to Zoom, but which also enables online voting. According to the municipal regulations, only the chairman of the meeting, i.e. the mayor, is required to be present. For a long time now, viewers have been able to follow the city council meetings online via a live stream. Committee meetings, however, are not broadcast. Here, too, the members are required to be present. In the event of illness, a representative would then have to attend.
It is "important to remain able to act in local politics" emphasizes fire brigade and disaster control officer Andreas Lohde (CSU).
It would also be right to “plan three meetings at once”, so that one can gain experience.
"A crisis case is an opportunity to go new ways in the future, regardless of an emergency," added Florian Weber (Die Party).
Johanna Mellentin (Greens), together with Weber responsible for the digital and social media section, sees it similarly.
It would be about "repositioning yourself as a city council and using the digital possibilities."
