In Marzling the lights are too bright and the streets too dusty

Bright lights and a dusty gravel road: This is what the citizens of Marzlingen confronted their local council with.

Marzling

- Too bright and glaring lights on the fire station, a dusty street with no pavement and a canceled Christmas market: At the recent Marzling municipal council meeting, the councils dealt with all sorts of citizen inquiries, in which a resident was exceptionally allowed to participate.

Much too bright lamps on the fire station

Three large lamps would illuminate the new fire station far too much, at least that was the opinion of a Marzlingen resident who expressed his displeasure via email. It was far too bright and basically light pollution that the town hall had to take action against, he wrote. Mayor Roswitha Apold (PB) pointed out that the FFW house lighting is currently still running at 100 percent, but is still being readjusted. This is where Thomas Sellmeier (SPD) also got involved, who had probably just asked: The lamps had already been dimmed to 30 percent and were still as bright as day. Johanna Sticksel (Greens) also wanted to know whether it was really necessary to illuminate an outdoor area in this way, because the Freising fire brigade wouldn't handle it that way either. According to Apold, however, a certain level of illuminance is necessaryto light up the sidewalk there. In addition, there are other regulations for fire stations than in the private sector. What Sticksel also noted: The large letters on the fire station are illuminated from below, which is, however, rather bad for insects. As far as she knows, it is better to irradiate light from above.

Residents want tar instead of gravel

The writer of the next e-mail was then also present at the meeting and was allowed to describe his problem live. As a resident of the Angerweg, he would like the gravel road to finally get a tar cover due to recurring potholes and dust. Angelika Groß from the building authority did not want to take part in this, however, and emphasized that if the community intervened, the road would then be constructed for the first time - 90 percent of which would have to be financially supported by all residents. The remaining three residents of the street would have always refused in the past. The residents there just wanted a thin tar blanket, countered the resident. And that is possible without any problems because, in his opinion, the underground of the path is stable. He also had an ace up his sleeve:“The mayor once said that if Hangenham is being renovated, we'll go along with it.” And that's exactly the case at the moment: road works are currently in progress in Hangenham.

It will be a very tough time for Marzling too

Councilor Klaus Meindl (FUW) also remembered this quote from the mayor.

However, that was not a decision, just a "statement".

In any case, the building authority wants to take care of the Angerweg soon - even if it is not really obvious that the community should cover the costs for three residents, as Angelika Groß made clear.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The end of the Christmas market in Marzlingen is also clear due to the pandemic, although all possibilities, even with expensive security staff, had been thought through.

Also the senior advent, as Roswitha Apold confirmed, would have to be canceled this year.

Only the women's association will sell Advent wreaths at this time.
