A Norwegian broadcaster noted that Qatari officials detained two of its journalists after reporting on the treatment of workers ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Halvor Ekeland and Lokman Ghorbani, journalists for the Norwegian Broadcasting Co. (NRK), were detained by police in Qatar late Sunday night, according to a statement sent to CNN by NRK.

According to the account of both journalists, they interrogated them for eight hours in separate rooms, one by one, they did not mistreat them but they put them in a cell with 10-12 other people and made them sign a document in Arabic that they could not understand. .
