Laschet congratulates Ampel on style and form

The still-CDU boss Laschet praised the traffic light parties for their good dealings with each other - his party could also learn from this. Other reactions from the Union were less friendly.

The traffic light is on and the opposition is not sparing with criticism.

But the failed Union Chancellor candidate Armin Laschet initially only has benevolent words for the SPD, Greens and FDP.

"Congratulations to the Ampel-Coalition, especially on the style and form of the negotiations," wrote the CDU chairman about the conclusion of the coalition talks on Twitter.

»Confidentiality is an important prerequisite for trust.

The Union also has to learn that again. ”It is a shame, however, that the future government partners would have dispensed with a digitization ministry and a national security council.

On Twitter, many people paid Laschet respect for his speech - including representatives of the traffic light parties.

“That's how fair opposition works.

Hats off, «tweeted Labor Minister Hubertus Heil (SPD).

The Green politician Cem Özdemir wrote: »This is how style works!

Thanks for the fairness, dear Armin Laschet.

Your successor will have to be measured against this way of dealing with democrats. "

The traffic light parties agreed on a coalition agreement on Wednesday - two months after the general election.

The coalition negotiations began on October 21, after the three traffic light parties had previously laid the foundation stone for them in explorations.

"More question marks than exclamation marks"

Not everywhere in the Union was the judgment of the coalition agreement as benevolent as that of Laschet.

CDU General Secretary Paul Ziemiak criticized the work as pale and vague.

Especially when it comes to the financing of the project, there are "more question marks than exclamation marks," he criticized in Berlin.

Union faction leader Ralph Brinkhaus is also skeptical.

"We don't see the departure," he said of the traffic light contract.

At the same time, he pushed for stricter rules to combat the corona virus.

The measures put in place would probably not be enough.

CSU regional group leader Alexander Dobrindt criticized the fact that in the refugee policy the SPD, Greens and FDP are now creating new incentives for migrants to come to Germany.

"A lot of handwriting FDP"

Friedrich Merz, on the other hand, spoke of an "interesting coalition agreement."

It contains "a lot of FDP handwriting," said the former Union parliamentary group leader and candidate for the CDU chairmanship in the Bundestag.

"It will be interesting to see whether the coalition will actually achieve these very ambitious goals."

The coalition agreement must now be approved by party congresses in the SPD and FDP and in a member survey among the Greens.

According to the party, the 125,000 or so Greens members should also decide in a digital ballot from this Thursday on the party's personnel board, i.e. above all the appointment of ministerial posts.

According to the schedule of the three parties, Scholz is to be elected Chancellor in the Bundestag in the week from December 6th.

After 16 years the era of Angela Merkel (CDU), who did not run again in the federal election on September 26th, ends.
