A unique experience between the past and the present. Fine art lovers were on a date with her during the “Memory from A to N” exhibition, which was held on the occasion of the days of Syrian culture and shed light on memories, places, times and stories formulated by plastic artists from pioneers to the new generation, passing through professionals, to dedicate the title “Culture.. Authenticity and renewal.”

The plastic artists, in their works participating in the exhibition hosted by the “Alf Noun Art and Spirituality” gallery, which will continue until the 9th of next December, drew pictures that lovers of Syrian art that dates back to 10 thousand years, according to the discovered historical studies.

The participating works included paintings that reflected the visions of the artists and their view of their environments, who are from the whole of Syrian geography. It also included paintings of the pioneers of plastic art who had an imprint in the renaissance of art in Syria, dedicated to the presence of art in the community, and other young people who created a space of beauty for their art with sophisticated and sober tools.

And 28 paintings with 11 sculptures formed the mainstay of this exhibition of the names of the great departed, including “Fateh Al-Modarres, Mahmoud Hammad, Adham Naim, Nazir Ismail, Michel Karshah, Adnan Jabassini, Drac Sebai, Ziad Zakari, Waheed Maghariba and Sawsan Jalal.”

From the generation of professionals in knowledge and profession, I attended paintings by Mamdouh Qashlan, Abdul-Manan Shamma, Talal Mualla, Ghassan Jadeed, Nabil Al-Samman, Ali Hussein, Adnan Hamida, Smoqan, Juma Al-Nazhan, Naamat Badawi, Muwaffaq Makhoul, Jamal Bostan, Asim Al-Rahban, Aksam Talaa, Maysa Awaida, Ammar Hassan, George Ashi and Badi Jahjah.

As for the sculptural works, they are for the late Fouad Abu Assaf, Lotfi Al-Ramahin, Muhammad Bajano, Mustafa Ali, Ihsan Al-Er, Fouad Tobal, Zaki Salam, Ghazi Aana, Nizar Ali Badr, Rami Waqaf and Aksam Al-Salloum.

In a statement to Sana Bayn, the director of the gallery, plastic artist Badi Jahjah, that the participating works are part of the gallery’s holdings, in addition to strategic partnerships with fine artists who trust in Alf and Nun and bring them together with the high investment in art, considering that the “Zakira” exhibition is the fruit of public awareness and intergenerational convergence.

He explained that the participating works are by artists from all of Syria, and this is the purpose of the exhibition to show the Syrian diversity, especially in art.

The plastic artist, Mowaffaq Makhoul, who participated in the exhibition, considered that the cultural scene had an important role during the years of the war on Syria, especially plastic art, achieving a beautiful imprint, as the artists continued to give in light of harsh years. Artists who chose the homeland and were patient despite the harsh conditions and are still working and presenting joy through a painting that is not only color, but offers meaning, message, dialogue and pause towards the self and the other.

The plastic artist, Juma'a Al-Nazhan, described the exhibition as a wonderful opportunity because it includes works for more than one generation, especially for the pioneering professors, explaining that he is from the city of Deir ez-Zor.

The plastic artist, Maysa Awaida, spoke about her participation in works during which she sought to spread the spirit of beauty and joy, pointing out that after 10 years of war, we are in dire need of resurrecting beauty, smiling, moving forward and dedicating positivity in all aspects of life.
