Member of Knesset Avi Maoz (Religious Zionism), who heads the Noam party, asked Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz about changing MDA blood donation forms - from there the father and the mother's name to "parent 1" and "parent 2". "Who made the decision to change the forms and what was the reason for that?", The Knesset member wrote in his letter.
"Why are the donors not provided with the original forms that do not come to engineer their consciousness? And who is authorized to make the decision that the new wording in the forms, in all its meanings, is more important to the State of Israel than tens of thousands of blood bank packages?"
As you may recall, a few weeks ago it was reported that students at recognized yeshivas in Israel are boycotting blood donations in protest of these forms.
This week it was alleged that MDA is considering returning the forms to their original format, but in the meetings it is said that attempts to submit the old forms were refused, so at the moment the boycott in many places remains the same.

This is not the first time that Maoz has addressed the matter, in a speech he delivered a few days ago on the Knesset podium, saying that it was an "unspeakable act of depravity." He claimed that "unfortunately and shamefully, irresponsibly, MDA officials refuse to find a solution as soon as possible and hang it on committees, and even more implicitly, that those who refuse to sign the forms will be to blame for people's deaths due to lack of blood donations." "Forcibly pushing a progressive agenda into an issue of voluntary lifesaving, then trying to play on the conscience of those who contribute en masse, but are unwilling to use it to advance foreign agendas that run counter to their beliefs, claiming they do not care about human life."
MK Maoz claimed that MDA also distorts morality, and also causes a severe shortage of blood units.
"Both distort morality and ignore the fact that there will be unhappy people who will pay the price, because of the lack of blood rations. For them, just like with the 'victims of peace' in Oslo, here are victims on the altar of the agenda of erasing progressive identities," Maoz said.
