The BRK Starnberg wants to build a combined building on Ulrich-Haid-Straße in Seefeld.

This has been under discussion since 2012. Now there is a new approach.

The municipality of Seefeld is contributing 30,000 euros to the project.

Seefeld

- "It has been a long way to get here," said BRK boss Jan Lang, beginning his remarks in front of the Seefeld municipal council on Tuesday evening.

This involved the construction of a combined building on Ulrich-Haid-Strasse in Seefeld and the planned construction of a new watchtower station in Steinebach, which, however, has already progressed in terms of planning.

The building application has already been submitted (we reported).

The municipality of Seefeld supports both projects with 30,000 euros each.

The councils decided this unanimously.

That’s planned

According to Lang, the new building on Ulrich-Haid-Straße will accommodate the local helpers, as well as part of the disaster control for the district and the mobile water rescue rapid response group north, which is responsible for the northern district. The space on Ulrich-Haid-Straße right next to the recycling center is in private hands. The BRK has made a reservation agreement with the owner, which is valid until the end of 2022. By then at the latest, building permits must have been created together with the municipality and the district administration. The municipality decided to draw up a development plan back in 2014 and started changing the zoning plan in order to designate an area for the BRK rescue station. That's why it took so longbecause the BRK first had to negotiate a guideline for the promotion of civil protection buildings with the district. “It took us five years to do this,” said Lang. Overall, the BRK is now planning new buildings or BRK stations at ten locations in the district.

"Only what is necessary according to current needs should be built," said Lang about the Seefeld project.

He put the space requirement at 1150 square meters, of which the building takes up around 563 square meters.

The exit should be in the direction of the recycling center.

It is possible that the access to the recycling center will be widened and shared.

In the building there is then space for several vehicles and boats, sanitary facilities and changing rooms, storage and workshop but also for a multi-purpose room for the team, the youth and training events.

"Due to the shortage of staff, we are also considering building a company apartment on the first floor," explained Lang.

New structural requirements for emergency answering points could also mean that the BRK's service and operations center would also have to move into the upper floor.

That should cost it

Lang put the costs at 1.1 to 1.3 million euros.

“It is unclear what costs are involved in the construction of the property.” He stated the cost of the water rescue service in Steinebach to be around 800,000 euros.

The BRK could raise around 45,000 euros for the projects alone, 251,000 euros would be financed through loans.

The district of Starnberg was there with 1.28 million euros.

Grant applications go not only to the municipality of Seefeld with a total of 60,000 euros, but also to Wörthsee (165,000 euros) and Inning (30,000 euros).

Lang intends to coordinate the draft of a development plan with the municipality by the end of the year.

"We hope for building permission in mid-2022." The trades should be awarded by the end of the first quarter of 2022.

"Due to the modular wood construction and prefabricated construction, we are assuming a construction time of only twelve to 18 months," said Lang.

The discussion

There was no lengthy debate. Nobody quarreled with the subsidies, but with possible cost explosions during construction, which then also fall back on the community. “The municipal fund is not that full,” said Josef Wastian (FWG). "It would be nice if we could stick with these amounts," warned Mayor Klaus Kögel. Ortwin Gentz (Greens / BI) welcomed the construction of apartments on the building on Ulrich-Haid-Straße. Christian Ruf (FWG) wanted to make sure that only the BRK staff really benefited from them. “You have to be a volunteer at the BRK. Otherwise we'll shoot ourselves in the knee, ”explained Lang. Ulrich Pirzer (FWG) would have liked to have brought the people of Munich on board with the cost sharing, who would definitely benefit from the BRK deployment on summer days. "We tried that," explained Lang. After all, the recreation area association also saves money because, contrary to initial plans, no large water watch station is being built in Oberndorf am Wörthsee. The then District Administrator Karl Roth therefore advocated sharing the costs. "But we didn't have a chance."

One more please

Finally, Lang had one more request.

For example, the BRK, which is currently housed in Seefeld's Stampfgasse, was terminated by the municipality at the end of the year - it wants to build apartments there.

"Please check whether we can continue to use the ground floor until December 2023.

Because homelessness is tough on the kidneys, ”Lang pleaded.

"We'll check that," promised Kögel.
