When the authorities were alerted at around 8:35 a.m. (local time) of the presence of smoke in the Listviajnaya mine in the town of Gramoteïno, in the Siberian region of Kemerovo, 285 people were inside.

At least eleven people died and 46 were still wanted, according to a new report from the authorities.
A previous report, quite moving, evoked nine dead and 48, then 49 missing.
“Rescue operations are underway.
A total of 237 people were brought to the surface of which 45 people were injured, ”the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations told Telegram.

But for now, 46 miners are said to be trapped inside the mine and the emergency services have "no contact" with them.
"The forces and resources of the ministry are working on the spot," continued this body, in particular in charge of firefighters and rescuers.
The causes of this accident remain unknown for the moment.
But, accidents are relatively frequent in the region.
Several catastrophes had already taken place in this mine.
In 2004, a methane explosion killed 13 people.
Another in 1981 had also killed 5 people.
