Shipping on the Forggensee will be more expensive in 2022

Füssen - If you want to take a boat trip on the Forggensee in the coming year, you have to dig deeper into your pocket.

Füssen - If you want to take a boat trip on the Forggensee in the coming year, you have to dig deeper into your pocket.

Because the fares for both the small and the large tour will be increased.

Adults will have to spend three euros more in future.

The works committee decided unanimously on Tuesday.

"The adjustment of ticket prices is necessary in view of the increased costs in all areas due to the corona pandemic," says the Forggenseeschifffahrt.

This is the only way to maintain or expand the current range of services and maintain quality standards.

"It is necessary to raise prices in order to at least partially offset the losses and costs that have occurred in the past."

The Ostallgäu district office also suggested this with a view to consolidating the budget, explained Helmut Schauer, head of Forggenseeschifffahrt.

Compared to other Bavarian boat trips, such as on the Königs-, Tegern- or Ammersee "we still look good," said Schauer

From the coming season, the big round trip on the MS Füssen will cost 16 euros instead of the previous 13 euros for adults, and the small round trip on the MS Allgäu will then cost 12 euros instead of the previous nine euros.

Despite the price increases, however, there is financial relief for children.

Because in the future, 15 and 16-year-olds will also be subject to the children's tariff.

Starting next year, this will be eight euros for the large round and six euros for the small round.

In order to relieve families, Hans-Jörg Adam (FWF) suggested that children not only up to the age of four, but in future up to six years of age, should be allowed on the ships free of charge.

“You are free up to five years on Lake Starnberg and Ammersee,” he said.

In order to be able to decide this on an ad hoc basis, however, there is no basis for calculation, objected Mayor Maximilian Eichstetter (CSU).

"We always did well for up to four years," said Schauer.

In addition, there is a financial relief for families anyway, since more young passengers will fall under the children's tariff in the future.

In the subsequent vote on this, the committee was divided.

Five were in favor of the change, five against - and the application was therefore rejected.

"We'll calculate that for next year," said Eichstetter, suggesting a compromise.

With a view to the other shipping trips, however, he then tended towards an exemption limit of up to five years.

"I don't see why we should go a year higher than everyone else."

Families benefit

The more important adjustment screw for Ilona Deckwerth (SPD) was the family card.

This will cost 39 euros for the large tour instead of the previous 33 euros and for the small tour 29 euros instead of the previous 23 euros.

It is important that it also applies to more than two children, said the SPD city councilor.

But that is the case anyway, said the town hall chief.

"If you have seven children, you pay as much as for two."

In addition, the Forggenseeschifffahrt always makes special prices for school or kindergarten groups, Schauer informed after Barbara Henles (CSU) objection.
