In Russia's Siberia region, ten people died after a coal mine collapsed and dozens more are missing.
Emergency services reported that some 285 people were underground, and until this Thursday, they tried unsuccessfully to communicate with them.
The country's president, Vladimir Putin, expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased miners.
