Dozens of Palestinians demanded during a solidarity stand in the city of Ramallah in the West Bank today to hand over the bodies of the martyrs, which are being held by the Israeli occupation authorities, stressing that the continued detention of these bodies is a war crime and a violation of human rights and international covenants.
The participants in the vigil organized by the Prisoner’s Club and the Commission of Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners and the families of the martyrs whose bodies are being held stressed that the Palestinian people are exercising their natural right to resist the occupation to gain freedom and independence, and the international community must take a decisive position and hold the occupation accountable for its continuing crimes against the Palestinians, most notably the detention of the bodies of the martyrs.
The participants emphasized that the file of handing over the bodies of the detained martyrs will remain open until the families of the martyrs receive the bodies of their sons and are buried in a manner worthy of the martyrs of Palestine.
The occupation authorities continue to detain the bodies of hundreds of Palestinian martyrs in cemeteries they control until today, and the bodies of dozens of martyrs in refrigerators, in clear violation of international laws and covenants.
