Dutch authorities today evacuated passengers from Maastricht Aachen Airport in the southeastern province of Limburg due to a bomb threat.
"Passengers and staff have been evacuated from the facility and all flights suspended," Dutch media quoted the military police, which guards the border and is responsible for airport security, as saying in a statement.
A police spokesman indicated that their members were searching the departure hall and other areas at the airport, using specialized dogs to search for explosives, without confirming that they had actually found any explosive material.
