Erding

- The new Erdinger recycling center will be almost five times the size of the previous one on Rennweg. The area on Sigwolfstrasse is scheduled to go into operation in 2023. "Erdinger will say: Finally," said Andreas Neumaier from the district administration on Monday at the meeting of the Committee on Climate, Nature, Structure, Transport and Environment. The committee agreed to the planning that the city of Erding has already pushed ahead with the industrial area south of Dachauer Straße - i.e. following the old area with Hagebaumarkt.

The district, which is responsible for waste disposal, will cover the costs of 5.61 million euros, including 690,000 euros for development and 4.92 million euros for construction.

However, the investment does not translate into garbage fees in a single year.

For the fee payers, the expenses are spread over several years.

The depreciation period for a recycling yard is 20 years.

With interest, that equates to just under EUR 292,000 per year.

The two recycling yards in Altenerding and Langengeisling are to be retained after the new building, in order to offer decentralized disposal options, especially for green waste.

In future, the bulky waste collection will no longer be located in Langengeisling, but at the new Erding recycling center.

Neumaier explained the concept for the new facility on around 5000 square meters.

A one-way regulation should achieve the complete separation of traffic flows, in particular the separation of logistics from visitor traffic.

Green waste or bulky waste containers could also be exchanged during opening hours without affecting users.

Due to the size of the recycling yard and the arrangement of the 36 parking spaces, more than 270 cars per hour could be processed if necessary, explained Neumaier.

"We can currently do that in a whole afternoon."

This performance could have an impact on the opening times, said district councilor and Mayor Max Gotz (CSU). The extension of the times "is solely due to the limited space and the waiting times," he explained. "We have to tell people that we are not a full-range supplier," said Gotz. In addition, it is not easy to find personnel for this task: "It is not fun to work there."

The facility will be accessible via a traffic roundabout on Dachauer Strasse. In this context, OB Gotz also pointed out a pedestrian and bike path that ran past. Social rooms with an office, an acceptance area for small fractions and a separate storage building are planned as the company building. The stairs are no longer required thanks to the lower recycling containers on the east side. The stopping lane, the lowered containers and the collection of old electrical appliances in the north of the area will be covered. In addition, the use of at least 50 percent of the roofs with photovoltaics is stipulated in the development plan, which is included in the costs.

In this context, Green District Councilor Dominik Rutz advocated checking whether this can also be expanded to 100 percent.

“The recycling yard doesn't need that much electricity,” replied Neumaier.

Rutz insisted that this shouldn't just be about personal consumption.

Gotz again pointed out the planning sovereignty of the city of Erding rather harshly.

This is a plan that has already been coordinated.

Checks are made anyway.

KFB Baumanagement GmbH was commissioned with the development work in the entire planning area.

This developer coordinates the entire development such as lighting, road construction and pipeline construction in the area.

In addition, KFB is also responsible for the planning and construction of the recycling yard.

In this way, development and civil engineering work can take place at the same time.
