This is reflected in the 2021 compensation barometer carried out by the French Institute of Directors (IFA), Ethics & Boards and Chapter Zero France, which a school teacher would sum up with an encouraging

Although 87% of CAC 40 companies have integrated a climate objective into the variable compensation of their manager, it is often a quantitative indicator for reducing CO emissions, sometimes with an external extra-financial rating.
But its weight is still marginal compared to traditional performance criteria, since it represents on average only 9% for the “long-term” variable and 5% for the “annual” variable.
Another downside: only one in five companies has a quantitative objective, both long and short term.
