If you are born in a school building and your father was a provisional school councilor, then your job is actually certain: Maria Lehnert, the enthusiastic teacher, celebrated her 85th birthday in Wartenberg.
Wartenberg - She grew up with three brothers in the Bad Tölz district. “My father wasn't in the party. That's why he also became the provisional school supervisor, ”she says when Mayor Christian Pröbst and Pastor Gregor Bartkowski pay their respects to the jubilee at the Höhenring. This decision of the occupying power determined her further life, because this is how she came into contact with the poor school sisters in Erding. In 1951 she began her teacher training in manual labor and housekeeping. She still thinks it is good that boys also had to learn that back then, and out of conviction, she shows a corresponding textbook.
Lehnert rose professionally, became a specialist teacher and specialist advisor, appointed by the state education authority. In 1964 she married her childhood sweetheart Willy Lehnert, a civil engineer, with whom she has son Michael. As early as 1972 she became a member of the Auerbach Ski Club, which did not fail to congratulate the long-standing member as well.
But this membership became important for someone else: Granddaughter Jil Lehnert is one of the aces of the club as a freerider, and grandma is immensely proud of her.
The jubilee still goes cross-country skiing in the mountains.
And about the wishes she has, she writes down for the press that boys should continue to take care of the subjects she has taught.
Incidentally, Lehnert's wish is at least partially fulfilled: The son (15) of our reporter has "cooked" at school once a week.
