Two men suspected of having participated in the violent attack with a knife of an elected representative of the town hall of Ivry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne) in early October were arrested and will be tried on January 6, 2022 after a first visit in court Thursday, November 25.
The two men were arrested Tuesday and were to be tried in immediate appearance Thursday at the Créteil court for aggravated violence.

The court decided to postpone the case to January 6, 2022. One of the two defendants will remain in pre-trial detention until then, the other has been placed under judicial supervision, the judges decided. The two men are suspected of being part of the ten people who attacked on October 8 the deputy in charge of the youth of Ivry, Boukary Gassama, at the exit of a handball match. Boukary Gassama had received three stab wounds in the thigh. According to the Créteil prosecutor's office, the attackers threatened him by telling him "

".
Two relatives of this elected, including another deputy in charge of the elderly, Ghaïs Bertout-Ourabah, were slightly injured while trying to intervene.
According to a source familiar with the matter, the two men who will be tried in January deny their involvement in this attack, which could be linked to a rivalry between neighborhoods.
