From December 1st, high pressure vaccinations will be given again in the Freising district.

The Biontech limitation poses a challenge.

District

- December 1st is a kind of deadline for the Freising district: The Freising vaccination center will run up to full load again next Wednesday.

At the same time, the branch in Au will be reopened on this day.

But the announcement by the Federal Ministry of Health that the Biontech order quantities will be capped in the next few weeks pose challenges for the vaccination centers.

According to this, the vaccination centers and mobile vaccination teams should only receive 1020 doses of the preparation per week.

There should be no upper limits for orders from Moderna.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

After a two-month break, it starts again in the market town of Au: At Pfaffenhofener Straße 5, in the rooms of the former doctor's practice of Dr.

Anton Freilinger, 150 to 200 people can be vaccinated daily from Wednesday, December 1st, Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., says Freilinger.

The district office expects only 96 vaccinations per day.

The organization runs as usual through the BRK, the registration through the Bavarian vaccination portal BayIMCO.

"The virus has no calendar"

Many citizens have apparently already done that: the vaccination appointments in Au are already booked up by mid-January.

Freilinger asks for consideration and common sense: “The virus has no calendar.

The vaccination protection is not gone when the deadline is over, a week or not does not matter. ”It is still important that older people and those with previous illnesses are given priority to“ boost ”.

The doctor emphasizes: "There is enough vaccine for everyone, nobody has to panic at the last minute." So that vaccine does not have to be thrown away because of canceled appointments, there is "a list of reserved people that we can call and put in between at short notice".

Hope for first vaccinations

Freilinger assumes that the majority of those willing to vaccinate will come to a refresher.

“However, I also hope that as many people as possible make the first vaccination.” There is enough vaccine available, even if Health Minister Jens Spahn recently caused confusion about the Biontech doses.

Basically everyone should get what is suitable for them.

The vaccination center in Freising is working flat out to fully restart operations, reports Deputy Head Hubert Böck.

That should happen from December 1st.

So far, the company has only been used to the extent that it was feasible with the existing staff.

“The district office has never completely closed the vaccination center.

But after the government's instruction to shut down the vaccination centers, it was of course reduced ”, explains Böck.

After politicians announced at the beginning of November that all vaccination centers would be operational again, the number was gradually increased - and vaccinations will be full again from Wednesday.

Then additional staff would be available again and further appointments would also be set in the BayIMCO.

Better vaccination portal than call center

Keyword BayIMCO: Booking appointments via the Bavarian vaccination portal (impfzentren.bayern) is still the best and fastest option, explains Böck.

“Anyone who can find their way around online a little bit should take advantage of the offer.” The call center staff would also use this program to make appointments.

Nevertheless, the switchboard has been staffed up.

“I try it myself every now and then.

With five calls a day, I get through at least once, ”reports Böck.

But of course the capacities are finite here too.

Additional appointments with Moderna

From December 1st, 480 vaccinations per day should be possible again at the Freising Vaccination Center. There are currently around 240. It is important to know: "The dates that are available so far are already booked up until January," says Böck. Anyone who is already registered and has opted for Biontech should also receive this vaccine. However, there is no one hundred percent guarantee due to the future limitation of order quantities. On the additional dates, which will be available again from December, Moderna will be inoculated. As the district office reports, a change from Moderna to Biontech is not possible - but from Biontech to Moderna.

Like Freilinger, Böck is also annoyed by the statements made by Health Minister Spahn about Biontech and Moderna, which recently caused a stir. He emphasizes: "Moderna is just as good as Biontech, some reports that it is even slightly better." The district office also reports: "The experts agree that Moderna is a safe, very effective and very good vaccine. According to the Robert Koch Institute, like Biontech, it offers a high level of effectiveness of around 90 percent against severe Covid-19 disease and around 75 percent against symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection with Delta. "

The deputy head of the vaccination center once again appeals to the entire population to take advantage of the vaccination offer - as soon as possible.

Because the plateau has not yet been reached.

"We would have needed the measures that are supposed to take effect much earlier," explains Böck.

He predicts strenuous weeks for his colleagues in the ambulance service and the hospitals.

"The medical staff will be challenged for a long time."

Zolling wants to vaccinate - but is not (yet) allowed

In Zolling, however, Mayor Helmut Priller no longer understands the world: While capacities for corona vaccinations are required everywhere and are also being ramped up again, but this does not work as quickly as desired, the Freising District Office does not respond to an offer from the Zolling community. As Priller said on Wednesday at a meeting of the Ampertalrat, he had offered District Administrator Helmut Petz to turn the test center in the Zolling community center into a vaccination center. As the Zollingen town hall chief emphasized, not only do you have all the permits to operate a vaccination center, but also the staff: the doctor and nurses would be ready to start vaccinating immediately.

However, the reactions from the district office and the health department are sobering.

“You don't really want that”, so Priller's impression.

He was not given any reasons why one does not (yet) want to accept the offer.
