Generous support from the Wörther Sports Club: In its most recent meeting, the municipal council decided unanimously to support the construction of a new sports stand with a 50 percent grant

Wörth - The local council set a cap at 72,500 euros. The overall measure is expected to cost around 145,000 euros. The chairman of SV Wörth, Adi Hundhammer, presented the project and the financing to the council members. The municipality also agreed to guarantee a loan of 40,000 euros, which the association wants to take out for the construction of the new grandstand. With the 50 percent solution, the committee followed a suggestion by Franz Mayr (ÜPWG), who brought this regulation into play. SV Wörth wants to contribute its own contribution of 18,500 euros and also start a crowdfunding for the project.

With the roofed sports stand, 80 seats and a standing area are to be created. In this way, all viewers can watch the games protected from wind and weather. "A meeting place for young and old" will also be created, said the SV chairman, who referred to the upgrading of the sports facility. The grandstand serves as a replacement for the existing seating area, which is getting on in years and needs to be renewed.

It is also hoped that the new building will trigger a "spirit of optimism" beyond Corona.

Deputy Mayor Ulla Dieckmann (SPD) asked what it would look like with sports funding through the Bavarian State Sports Association (BLSV) and the district.

Hundhammer replied: "Unfortunately, the measure is not funded by the BLSV and the district." Dieckmann was in favor of the grant, but pointed out, with regard to equal treatment, that the Hörlkofener sports club could also come up with a concern, which should then also be taken into account.

CSU councilor Renate Speer praised the youth and club work.

ÜPWG Council Stephan Schimmer praised the fact that the grandstand construction was planned “not at all excessive” and also advocated it.

Mayor Thomas Gneißl (ÜPWG) emphasized that with the funding, a lot will be “off to a good start” over the next few years.

The community chief also wants to use the "small official channel" to shed light on the grant issue, whether there are other options as well.

"We are aware that a considerable amount is involved," said the chairman of the association Hundhammer, who personally thanked the numerous association members who attended the meeting for the support.

In the October meeting, the municipal council had already approved grant applications for various individual projects of SV Wörth with 50 percent funding and a maximum total support of 39,000 euros (we reported).

The largest item here was the conversion of the floodlight system to LED technology with a subsidy of up to 25,000 euros.
