It shouldn't be, because the catch-up date for a solemn farewell to the former Mayor of Dießen, Herbert Kirsch, has now been canceled at short notice. Dießen

- Kirsch was First Mayor for 24 years and has made a name for himself in a variety of matters. His commitment to art and culture was particularly great. He made a significant contribution to the maintenance and relocation of the Dießen pottery market from its former location, the Sudau site on Rotter Strasse, to the lake facilities. Kirsch was always aware that the market town has a cultural heritage to cultivate beyond the pottery market. Not only because of the fact that the famous composer Carl Orff lived and worked in Dießen until his death in 1982. It was Kirsch who urged the Carl Orff Foundation to move its headquarters to the artist's former home. The Carl Orff Museum is to be built there over the next few years.

An expansion as a school location was realized with the construction of the Ammerseegymnasium under the aegis of Kirsch.

The Dettenschwang and Riederau kindergartens were also built during his tenure.

He landed his last big coup on the last day of his tenure: the acquisition of the lake property in St. Alban south of the lake restaurant.
