At least 19 people died and another 31 were injured this Friday, after a bus hit a house on the Joquicingo-Malinalco highway, at the height of El Guarda, in the State of Mexico, the Red Cross and the State Attorney's Office informed CNN.
The vehicle was a private unit that transported pilgrims from Sahuayo, Michoacán and headed to the Chalma sanctuary, the communication spokesman for the Red Cross of the State of Mexico, Mario Vázquez, told CNN.

The injured were transferred to hospitals in the area and at least five people in serious condition were transferred by helicopter to the city of Toluca, in the same state.
Authorities are investigating the causes of the collision.
