As a substitute there are now four long shopping Saturdays.
Bad Tölz - Actually, at the moment, many stands should fill Tölzer Marktstrasse and entice you to a mulled wine, a bratwurst or to buy a Christmas present.
But Corona made the market impossible for the second time in a row.
After the cancellation of the Christmas market and Sunday shopping on November 28th, the Tölz entrepreneur association "Wir für Tölz", the city and the Tölzer Nativity Scene Association have considered alternatives: long shopping Saturdays.
On the four Saturdays before Christmas - November 27, December 4, 11 and 18 - many shops in the city center are open until 6 p.m.
Presents can be nicely wrapped in a hut
If you want to have what you've bought nicely packaged, go to the packing hut on Upper Marktstrasse.
The had proven itself in the past year, so city hall spokeswoman Birte Otterbach in a press release.
"This avoids queues in and in front of the shops, and the frequency of customers can be increased through the shorter time spent in the shop."
Tölzer Nativity Path attracts with 59 nativity scenes
Together with the crib association, the economic development agency has again initiated the Tölzer crib path.
This leads past 49 shop windows and ten additional locations.
Start is on the first Advent.
The way to the 59 cribs is described in a flyer.
This is available in the tourist information office and in all the shops involved.
In addition, a comet on the window of the participating shops indicates the nativity scene exhibition.
The crib pavilion as well as the Maria Annunciation crib hut can also be seen again.
A large silver fir and ten Christmas trees on Marktstrasse
In addition to the imposing silver fir on the Winzerer monument, the city has set up and decorated ten Christmas trees in Marktstrasse.
And this year there are also four imposing Christmas trees at the entrances to the town - on Bairawieser Straße, B 13, B 472 and Königsdorfer Straße.
The Tölzer Stadtwerke took over the lighting of the Christmas trees in the urban area.
