At least three people died after an armed attack that occurred this Thursday in the Municipal Palace of Guaymas, Sonora, in northwestern Mexico, reported the Sonoran Attorney General's Office on its Twitter account.
“Three people are reported dead, two men and one woman.
It is requested to avoid access to the first painting of the city, ”tweeted the Prosecutor's Office without detailing if there are injured people.
"Personnel from the Sonora Prosecutor's Office and corporations from the 3 levels of government follow the red code," added the Sonora Prosecutor's Office.
For its part, the Ministry of Public Security of Sonora reported on its social networks that its elements maintain an operation in the area in collaboration with the National Guard, the Municipal Police, the Navy and the Sonoran Prosecutor's Office.
It is unknown who was inside the Municipal Palace during the attack, however, according to the Movimiento Ciudadano de Sonora party, the mayor of Guaymas and “many people” were present when the incident occurred.
"Attention and justice are urgently needed," the Mexican political party wrote on its Twitter account.
