This evening, the first flight to Abu Dhabi International Airport in the United Arab Emirates took off from Damascus International Airport on board Cham Wings Airlines, as part of a plan to expand its flights abroad to neighboring countries.
Director of Development and Public Relations at the company, Osama Sate’ Bayan, said in a press statement that this step comes within the framework of the company’s expansion of its network of external stations and access to the capital, Abu Dhabi, to meet the needs of its passengers and to activate air and commercial transport in general between the two countries, pointing to the importance of opening a direct line between Damascus and Abu Dhabi. In terms of developing and promoting trade, cultural and tourism exchange.
Sate' pointed out that the number of passengers on board today's flight reached 147, stressing that the company is working to provide the best services at encouraging prices, while maintaining the quality of service and regular appointments.
Hamdi Khalaf, commercial director of the company, stated that operating the Abu Dhabi station is a first step and will be followed by other steps to cooperate in the field of flights with other countries, pointing out that there will be a close flight to Pakistan and an additional flight between Aleppo and Sharjah to become two flights per week.
A number of company employees, artists, economic, cultural and media personalities participated in the launch ceremony.
And Cham Wings Airlines announced last June the return of its direct flights from Damascus to the United Arab Emirates after stopping due to the Corona pandemic, and flights are currently operating to the Emirate of Sharjah from Damascus International Airport and Aleppo Airport.
