Crisis in the West Indies: the government postpones the vaccination obligation for caregivers to December 31

The obligation for caregivers to be vaccinated against Covid-19 was the starting point of the unrest shaking Guadeloupe and Martinique.


The government announced on Friday that it was pushing back the date of implementation of the vaccination obligation for caregivers in the West Indies to December 31, and offering individual support to support its application in these islands which are experiencing a serious social crisis.

Overseas Ministers Sébastien Lecornu, and Health Ministers Olivier Véran also announce the lifting of the suspension of caregivers who refuse vaccination if they accept this individual support, in a joint press release.
