District - "Service Above Self - selfless service" - this is the self-chosen task of the global civil society organization Rotary.

A Rotary Club has also been active in Tutzing for 15 years, promoting humanitarian projects on other continents as well as working locally

In Colombia, Ghana and Armenia, the Tutzinger Club members helped set up children's homes and schools, in Nepal equipped a hospital with modern incinerators for correct garbage disposal, and set up a maternity ward in Nairobi. In Tutzing, the Rotary Club has made educational history with innovative learning projects for children and young people such as the “Knowledge Detectives” and the “Word Experts”. The Tutzing Rotarians were also involved in the “Democracy Driving License” for young people, the very first in all of Upper Bavaria. The latest on-site aid project was the construction of the new footbridge for the Tutzing water rescue service.

"At Rotary, it's not just about pulling out the checkbook, but helping yourself," explains the current President of the Tutzinger Club, Dr. Siegfried Müßig: “That is why all aid projects, including those on other continents, are generally developed in close cooperation with those responsible on site and supervised by Rotarians. The funds that we need for our aid projects must be raised by us beforehand. "

As for many local associations and initiatives, the Tutzing Advent market is also an important source of income for the Rotary Club. The club has had a large bistro stand there for many years. All club members are then on their feet to offer home-made food and drinks - the flambéed apple pancakes at the Rotarians' booth are particularly popular. This year the Advent market is canceled for the second time in a row. The social commitment for the neediest in the world should not suffer from the Corona crisis: “We stand by our fundraising recipients. And we will keep that! ”Promises President Müßig. The general assembly takes place in December, which has to find ways and meansto continue the social commitment of the club - internationally across political borders and continents as well as locally in Tutzing.
